What We Collect

Person, Place, or Thing is a free browser game that does not require an account or login. We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or payment details.

Aggregate stats (win/loss record, streaks) are stored in your browser's localStorage. Clearing your browser data will reset these stats.

We also store anonymous game session data on our servers, including the questions you ask, your guesses, and game outcome. This data is linked to a randomly generated client ID stored in a cookie — not to your name, email, or any personally identifiable information.

Cookies & Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand general usage patterns (page views, visit counts). Umami does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information.

We use Google AdSense to display ads. AdSense may set cookies on your browser to serve relevant ads and measure ad performance. You can manage your ad preferences at Google Ad Settings.

Third-Party Services

  • Anthropic (Claude) — powers the AI game master that answers your yes/no questions. Questions you ask during gameplay are sent to Anthropic's API. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
  • Google AdSense — ad serving. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Umami — privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics.

Children's Privacy

This game is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
